Makiko Mitsunari

Makiko Mitsunari studied Gold and Silversmithing at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology before completing her jewelry studies at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. Now based in Hyogo, she positions jewelry as a contemplative medium to explore the delicate balance and fragility of coexistence between humans, animals, and nature. By employing natural materials such as bear fur and wood, she embeds her practice in a broader inquiry into the vitality and instinct of nature and the cyclical patterns of life.
